SHAH ALAM, 11 SEPTEMBER 2021 – Isu bunuh diri yang sedang meningkat secara mendadak bukan sahaja di Malaysia bahkan di seluruh dunia akibat pandemik Covid-19 amat membimbangkan. Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) telah mengisytiharkan 10 September setiap tahun sebagai Hari Pencegahan Bunuh Diri Sedunia (World Suicide Prevention Day). Bertemakan “Mencipta Harapan Melalui Tindakan”, Hari Pencegahan Bunuh Diri Sedunia pada tahun ini memfokuskan kepada tindakan yang boleh diambil oleh setiap individu kepada individu yang lain sama ada kawan, ahli keluarga, rakan atau pun sesiapa sahaja yang berada dalam komuniti kita, untuk kita sentiasa peka dan prihatin dalam memberikan harapan dan bantuan yang mampu menyelamatkan nyawa.

Justeru, Yayasan ZuriatCARE (YZC) melalui program Awareness Against Suicide (AWAS) melancarkan satu kempen kesedaran yang dinamakan Kempen #StandForHOPE yang akan berlangsung dari 1 September 2021 sehingga 31 Disember 2021 sebagai tanda sokongan kepada hari bersejarah ini. AWAS menyokong usaha kerajaan yang telah melaksanakan pelbagai inisiatif bagi menangani isu ini.

Atas tanggungjawab bersama dalam mencegah gejala bunuh diri ini, maka terlahirlah lagu bergenre Pop R&B dan muzik video “Harapan” hasil ciptaan Damian Mikhail serta dinyanyikan oleh beliau sendiri dan Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim selaku Pengasas Bersama dan Duta Kempen #StandForHOPE ini dilihat mampu menjadi pemangkin harapan, inspirasi dan semangat kepada mereka yang sedang dalam kebuntuan serta permasalahan emosi supaya tidak berputus asa dalam kehidupan, kerana harapan dan bantuan sentiasa ada di sekeliling mereka.

Isteri kepada Tunku Nadzimuddin Tunku Mudzaffar yang juga cucu Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan ke-10 ini, memberanikan diri tampil dengan single Harapan yang disifatkan sebagai projek istimewa. Sarimah yang ‘meledak’ dengan single Kini Kau Tiada pada 2001 hingga dinobatkan Artis Baharu Terbaik, Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM), kembali bekerjasama dengan Damian.

“Minat menyanyi tidak pernah berkubur. Cuma, seiring peningkatan usia, tumpuan banyak beralih kepada perkara lain, termasuk rumah tangga. Namun, sesekali kenapa tidak asah semula bakat menyanyi, dapat juga melepaskan rindu.

“Lagu Harapan ciptaan Damian dan Harits Agustin berentak pop R&B. Saya kongsi idea menghasilkan lirik bersama Azian M Nor. Malah, Damian menjadi rakan duet saya dalam lagu itu,” katanya.

Lirik lagu tersebut padat dengan mesej positif dan bertepatan dengan perjuangan berkaitan kempen pencegahan dan hindari bunuh diri iaitu menghapuskan stigma dan memberi sokongan emosi kepada individu yang sedang bertarung dengan masalah kesihatan mental yang menjurus kepada pemikiran dan tingkah laku bunuh diri serta yang telah terkesan akibat kematian insan tersayang yang Meninggal dunia Akibat Bunuh Diri (MABD).

Menurut Damian, beliau terlibat dengan Kempen #StandForHOPE atas dasar kesedaran untuk memberikan sesuatu kepada masyarakat dikala negara masih lagi berdepan dengan pandemik Covid-19 ini.

“Peluang ini datang apabila Che Puan Sarimah menghubungi dan mengajak saya untuk bersama dalam projek ini. Apabila Che Puan Sarimah menerangkan kepada saya tentang projek ini, saya merasa projek ini ada kaitannya dengan saya sendiri dimana saya tidak sedar yang sebelum ini saya mempunyai kawan-kawan dan juga orang-orang yang saya kenali yang melalui fasa-fasa mental health dan kecenderungan untuk membunuh diri.”

“Dengan menggunakan lagu sebagai medium, mungkin ini boleh mencetuskan kepada masyarakat agar mereka yang mempunyai masaalah mental health atau kecenderungan untuk membunuh diri ini dapat mendengar luhanan isi hati bahkan perasaan kita”. Ujar Damian ketika sidang media secara maya yang diadakan semalam.

YZC menyokong penuh program AWAS yang komited untuk membantu serta memberi kefahaman kepada masyarakat bagi menangani isu bunuh diri, kesihatan dan penyakit mental demi menghapuskan stigma yang menjadi penghalang kepada seseorang itu daripada mendapatkan bantuan yang sewajarnya.

Pengasas AWAS & Pengerusi Yayasan ZuriatCARE, Alia Ali atau lebih mesra disapa “Kak Ngah” menjelaskan, bahawa setiap orang mempunyai kesihatan mental tetapi tidak semua orang mempunyai penyakit mental. Kajian juga menunjukkan 80 peratus kejadian membunuh diri terdiri daripada mereka yang mempunyai penyakit mental dan selebihnya adalah mereka yang ingin lari dari belenggu hutang, terjerat dengan ceti haram atau Ah Long dan sebagainya. Menurutnya lagi, kemurungan atau depressed adalah penyumbang terbesar kepada kecenderungan untuk membunuh diri.

Ditanya mengenai perbuatan membunuh diri yang banyak dipertontonkan dalam media sosial, beliau berkata, “ia sangat membimbangkan sebab yang paling bahaya adalah penularan bunuh diri itu ditiru, terutamanya apabila membabitkan personaliti popular membunuh diri dan cara kematian itu disebarkan secara teliti oleh media. Apabila seseorang yang merasakan dirinya tiada harapan untuk hidup, mereka ini akan meniru dengan cara yang sama.”
