‘Langkah Baru’ sebagai sebuah ‘manual’ bagi yang ingin menyertai industri muzik

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 SEPTEMBER 2021 – Teknologi baharu telah mengubah landskap industri muzik Malaysia sejak beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini. Proses pembikinan dan rakaman lagu, strategi dan bentuk pemasaran serta penjualan lagu dan cara pendengar menikmati muzik telah berubah! 

Menerusi teknologi baharu ini, industri muzik telah mengalami transisi peralihan besar daripada kaedah konvensional dan tradisional kepada digital muzik yang mana ia turut memaksa kebanyakan syarikat rakaman untuk menukar bisnes modul mereka dengan pantas.

Sama ada perubahan teknologi dan dominasi digital muzik ini menguntungkan syarikat rakaman atau sebaliknya, namun suatu hal yang nyata ia telah memberi peluang kepada bakat-bakat baharu atau sedia ada untuk memperolehi hak pemilikan terhadap harta intelek (karya-karya) mereka dan mendapatkan keuntungan terus daripada penjualan lagu menerusi platform penstriman digital muzik. 

Malangnya, masih ramai bakat-bakat di luar sana yang tidak menggunakan ruang dan peluang ini dengan sebaiknya kerana mungkin mereka tidak punya kesedaran atau barangkali kekurangan pengetahuan tentang cara membuat duit atau menjana pendapatan yang lebih selesa dan stabil daripada industri ini. 

Permasalahan yang dilihat inilah yang telah mendorong pencipta lagu, pemuzik dan penerbit muzik Taja Mustapha (Meet Uncle Hussain) dan Kimmy Khir, pemilik bersama Archive Capital Sdn Bhd dan Taja Archive Sdn Bhd khusus dalam syarikat penerbitan muzik dan pengurusan penerbitan muzik (music publishing) untuk membangunkan projek LANGKAH BARU.

Projek LANGKAH BARU adalah suatu solusi bagi membantu bakat-bakat ini menggapai cita-cita dan impian mereka menjadi penulis lagu dan penyanyi tetapi pada masa yang sama memahami selok-belok industri muzik dan mengetahui hak-hak terhadap pemilikan harta intelek mereka. 

Projek berkonsep program edutainment yang memfokuskan pembangunan bakat dan pembinaan rangkaian di dalam industri muzik Malaysia ini juga adalah inisiatif Taja Mustapha dan Kimmy Khir bersama rakan-rakan karyawan seni lain seperti Adi Priyo Sambodo (Adi 6ixthsense), Alyph, Prashan Chitty, Joe Lee dan Liza Ramli. 

Asas kepada program edutainment LANGKAH BARU ini adalah untuk melengkapkan persiapan dan persediaan bakat kurang komersil kepada industri arus perdana (mainstream) dengan mengetengahkan modul dari sudut perkongsian ilmu tentang industri komersial, proses mencipta lagu, bagaimana kerja-kerja rakaman dilakukan sehinggalah saat bergelar penyanyi rakaman, cara memasarkan diri, pemasaran dan penjualan lagu serta pengetahuan tentang harta intelek dan asas hak cipta buat pencipta lagu, pemilik rakaman, dan pelaku rakaman. 

Modul pengetahuan dan pembelajaran yang dirangka khusus di dalam LANGKAH BARU ini sangat relevan dan komprehensif untuk keperluan setiap bakat sebelum melangkah ke industri muzik, bahkan ia juga dibina dengan sangat unik kerana menyatukan seluruh industri dalam satu program untuk saling belajar, mengenal dan memahami asas. 

Apatah lagi, ia turut mendapat kerjasama dan sokongan daripada Kementerian Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), Perbadanan Harta Intelek Malaysia (MyIPO), Badan Badan Pelesenan Muzik MACP, PPM dan RPM dan rakan industri muzik strategik yang lain. 

LANGKAH BARU yang dicetuskan oleh karyawan-karyawan seni muzik di belakang tabir ini adalah usaha mereka untuk memberikan sumbangan kepada industri muzik tanah air menerusi skil, pengalaman dan pengetahuan yang ada sepanjang penglibatan mereka di dalam industri ini. 

Dengan wujudnya projek LANGKAH BARU ini, ia diharap dapat dijadikan sebuah manual (garis panduan) untuk kegunaan setiap bakat yang mahu menyertai industri muzik ini pada masa sekarang atau akan datang. 

Perjalanan Projek LANGKAH BARU 

Projek LANGKAH BARU ini mula dicetuskan pada Disember 2020 oleh Taja dan Kimmy. Kedua-dua pemilik Archive Capital Sdn Bhd dan Taja Archive Sdn Bhd ini sememangnya sangat prolifik dengan kegiatan-kegiatan muzik tanah air.

Ilham untuk menghasilkan projek seni ini tercetus apabila menyedari bahawa masih ramai bakat sedia ada di luar sana yang kurang kesedaran dan pengetahuan bahawa bakat dan karya lagu hasil intelek mereka mampu menjadi legasi dan menjana pendapatan menerusi royalti. 

Bertitik-tolak daripada itu, mereka telah menetapkan misi untuk mencari bakat-bakat yang sedia ada di persada muzik tetapi masih belum mencapai status pihak yang berkepentingan (stakeholder) dengan syarikat rakaman, penstriminan digital muzik, badan hak cipta dan badan pelesenan. 

Dengan bantuan rakan-rakan karyawan seni lain, projek ini telah dimulakan dengan proses uji bakat di seluruh Malaysia untuk mencari calon-calon bakat yang sesuai menerusi video penyertaan yang dihantar.  

Penasihat Penerbitan Adi 6ixthsense (kiri) dan penyanyi dari Singapura, Alyph

Proses ini melalui beberapa saringan mengikut kesesuaian yang dicari berdasarkan misi mereka itu dan akhirnya empat kumpulan peserta dari kategori berbeza telah dipilih iaitu artis Indie, artis busker, penghibur acara majlis kahwin dan pemuzik kelab. 

Peserta-peserta yang terpilih ini akan menyertai program edutainment ini dengan modul-modul yang menekankan 3 aspek utama iaitu asas pengetahuan hak cipta, asas produksi muzik dan asas pengendalian bisnes industri muzik. 

Program yang memerlukan peserta-peserta ini menyertai beberapa bengkel modul berlangsung selama 13 bulan bermula daripada pre-produksi, produksi dan pos produksi. 

Hasil lagu ciptaan dan nyanyian keempat-empat peserta ini akan mula diedarkan di semua platform penstriminan muzik digital pada 1 Oktober ini dan juga edaran rakan kolaborasi pengedar tempatan dan luar negara. 

LANGKAH BARU adalah sebuah projek yang mendapat mandat dan sokongan sepenuhnya daripada KKMM menerusi Dana Kandungan Digital (DKD) Muzik 2020 dengan tujuan untuk mengangkat industri muzik ke tahap yang lebih tinggi lagi. 

Program Langkah Baru ini bakal disiarkan menerusi beberapa saluran platform digital seperti YouTube dan Media Sosial. 

Tarikan LANGKAH BARU 

Pertama – Peserta-peserta bakat sedia ada yang terpilih berpeluang untuk menimba ilmu dan mendapat tunjuk ajar daripada mentor-mentor berpengalaman menerusi modul-modul yang diketengah di dalam program edutainment ini. 

Kedua – Peserta-peserta bakat sedia ada yang terpilih ini juga diberikan perkongsian ilmu daripada rakan artis dan rakan media tentang hal-hal berkaitan dengan dunia hiburan dan industri muzik. 

Ketiga – Peserta-peserta bakat sedia ada yang terpilih ini juga berpeluang berkolaborasi dengan penulis lirik. 

Keempat – Program ini juga mendapat kolaborasi daripada badan pengedaran daripada label atau syarikat rakaman lokal dan antarabangsa untuk mengedarkan karya lagu peserta-peserta bakat sedia ada yang terpilih ini.

Kelima – Program ini mendapat sokongan dan kerjasama daripada badan-badan hak cipta dan pelesenan secara langsung. 

Dan tarikan keenam –  Peserta-peserta bakat sedia ada yang terpilih ini akan dianugerahkan sijil graduasi sepenuhnya sebagai pihak yang berkepentingan di dalam industri muzik tempatan dengan memperolehi bahagian (pendapatan) mereka sendiri di dalam produk akhir dalam industri beserta ilmu mengenai mekanisme industri. 

Projek Langkah Baru ini akan dijalankan secara berterusan sebagai ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CSR) Archive Capital kepada industri muzik bagi tujuan pembelajaran dan memperkasakan Hak Cipta untuk ekonomi dan hak moral penggiat-penggiat seni. 

Ini merupakan salah satu inisiatif untuk membantu anak-anak muda di luar sana yang sememangnya ingin mempelajari cara yang terbaik untuk menjana pendapatan di landasan yang tepat melalui hasil seni muzik mereka sendiri. 

Melalui inisiatif ini, ia diharap dapat membantu anak seni Malaysia untuk menjana pendapatan secara profesional dan pada masa sama menghasilkan lebih ramai ahli muzik yang bijak dan berdaya saing serta memahami hak dan kepentingan mereka di dalam industri ini.
