KUALA LUMPUR, 24 OKTOBER 2021 – Pengarah terkenal Mamat Khalid meninggal dunia akibat serangan jantung di Hospital Slim River, Perak, awal pagi hari ini.
Berita pemergian Mamat, 58, dikongsi menerusi Facebook Din Dressa.
“Dukacita dimaklumkan bahawa Mamat Khalid telah meninggal dunia sebentar tadi di Hospital Slim River. Semoga Allahyarham ditempatkan dalam kalangan orang beriman.
“Jasa beliau dalam bidang perfileman amat dihargai lebih-lebih lagi dalam memperkenalkan watak Pembantu Perubatan dalam filem-filem arahan beliau” tulisnya.
Difahamkan, Allahyarham pengsan di restorannya, Sarang Art Hub di Tanjung Malim, Perak sebelum dikejarkan ke Hospital Slim River dan disahkan meninggal dunia.
Terdahulu Allahyarham pernah dimasukkan ke Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU) di sebuah pusat perubatan selepas mengalami sesak nafas pada Oktober 2019. Doktor kemudian mengesahkan beliau menghidap pneumonia.
Mamat atau nama sebenarnya, Mohamad Mohamad Khalid meninggalkan seorang isteri, Hasmah Hassan dan lima anak. Jenazah akan dikebumikan di Ipoh, Perak, hari ini.
Pengarah hebat ini cukup disegani dan dihormati di arena perfileman tanah air dengan gaya pengarahan tersendiri. Antara karyanya yang paling popular ialah Hantu Kak Limah, Zombie Kampung Pisang, Man Laksa, Rock Oo, Rock Bro, 16 Puasa, 17 Puasa, 18 Puasa Di Kampung Pisang dan banyak lagi.
