KUALA LUMPUR, 24 DISEMBER 2020 – Levi’s Music Project pertama kali diadakan di Malaysia telah menerima lebih 200 penyertaan dan 2 juri berpengalaman dalam industri iaitu Jennifer Thompson dan Old Head Jin telah menilai dan memilih 4 finalist iaitu Dato’ Maw, Alien Lipstick Fire, Mayabayu dan Margasatwa. Keempat-empat finalist telah merakamkan sebuah single di Big A Production Studio dengan tajaan Levi’s Malaysia.

Susulan itu kemuncak acara iaitu Levi’s Virtual Showcase telah dipertontonkan kepada umum di saluran youtube rasmi Levi’s pada 22hb Disember 2020, menyaksikan setiap dari finalist mempersembahkan single terbaru mereka secara live buat pertama kali, dan seterusnya meriliskan lagu baru mereka itu di platform digital pada keesokan harinya pada 23hb Disember 2020.

Margasatwa dengan lagunya yang berjudul ‘Yang Asli’ telah berjaya menambat hati juri yang juga mentor sepanjang program Levi’s Music Project. Bercakap mengenai lagu itu, “Margasatwa pada asalnya tidak merancang untuk menyertai mana-mana pertandingan kerana sedang fokus dalam penghasilan album kedua namun berubah fikiran kerana mempunyai lagu yang dirasakan sangat sesuai dengan jenama Levi’s itu sendiri.” Jelas Kimal yang juga merupakan penyanyi kugiran Margasatwa. Tuah ayam nampak di kaki, tuah Margasatwa berjaya bawa pulang RM20 Ribu.

‘Yang Asli’ berkisarkan tentang keyakinan diri dalam menjadi diri sendiri, tanpa mempedulikan kata-kata negatif orang lain terhadap diri seseorang. Dalam era media sosial yang begitu terbuka kini, ia cenderung dipenuhi dengan suara negatif dan tohmahan sehingga merendahkan martabat orang lain sekaligus meruntuhkan keyakinan seseorang. Justeru itu, lagu ini adalah untuk mengembalikan semula keyakinan terhadap diri sesorang yang mendengarnya, kerana setiap manusia mempunyai ‘kecantikan’ yang tersendiri dan asli, yang tidak dapat dilihat hanya melalui media sosial sahaja.

Levi’s menghadiahkan geran RM20 ribu itu untuk penghasilan video muzik rasmi bagi lagu ‘Yang Asli’ yang akan memulakan penggambaran tidak lama lagi bersama seorang pengarah berkaliber. Video muzik ‘Yang Asli’ dijangka akan siap untuk tontonan umum pada Februari 2021. Sementara itu, lagu ‘Yang Asli’ boleh didengari di semua platform digital dan di saluran youtube rasmi Margasatwa yang turut memaparkan artwork lagu tersebut hasil kolaborasi dengan sorang artis ilustrasi tempatan Shufitri Shukardi.
