TANJONG MALIM, 9 Februari – UNIVERSITI Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) menerusi Pusat Alumni Jabatan Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni (JHEP&A) hari ini melancarkan laman sesawangAlumni Information Management  System (AIMS), sebuah pangkalan data yang menghubungkan antara Pusat Alumni JHEP&A dan bekas pelajar institusi pengajian tersebut.

Majlis pelancaran disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Naib Canselor Hal Ehwal Pelajar UPSI ACP/ KS PROFESOR DATO DR. MD AMIN MD TAFFdi Kampus Sultan Azlan Shah, UPSI dan dipancarkan secara langsung melalui talian WEBEXdan FacebookPusat Alumni.

Menurut Md. Amin, majlis pelancaran diadakan secara dalam talian itu bertujuan untuk mempromosi AIMS yang dibangunkan oleh UPSI sebagai salah satu inisiatif pusat tanggungjawab jabatannya serta mengembangkan potensi Pusat Alumni sebagai sebuah pusat tanggungjawab yang menjalankan aktiviti berkaitan bekas pelajar pusat pengajian pendidikan tertua negara.

“Sebagai tonggak kepada institusi pendidikan negara, pihak Universiti mengalu-alukan cadangan inisiatif daripada setiap peringkat pengurusan merealisasikan hasrat pendidikan negara untuk memacu Malaysia menjadi negara maju dan berpendapatan tinggi. Inisiatif yang dilaksanakan Pusat Alumni JHEP&A UPSI dengan membangunkan pangkalan data bekas pelajar yang dikenali sebagai alumni Anak Kandung Suluh Budiman (AKSB) dilihat bertepatan dengan keperluan perhubungan antara dua entiti sekaligus mewujudkan jaringan kerjasama berterusan antara alumni dengan pihak UPSI,” jelasnya pada sidang media.

“Saya menyeru kepada seluruh alumni AKSB daripada kesemua era untuk mendaftar dan mengemaskini maklumat terkini dalam laman sesawang AIMS yang telah dibangunkan oleh pihak universiti sebagai salah satu tanggungjawab alumni terhadap alma mater. Setiap pendaftaran baru adalah percuma,” tambah beliau lagi.

“AIMS merupakan sistem pangkalan data mengandungi maklumat alumni daripada era Sultan Idris Teaching College (SITC), Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris (MPSI), Institut Pendidikan Sultan Idris (IPSI) dan era terkini Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). AIMS dibangunkan Unit Komunikasi & Teknologi Maklumat dan apa yang menariknya, sistem pengumpulan data ini turut dibangunkan sekumpulan penyelidik yang merupakan alumni-alumni Anak Kandung Suluh Budiman (AKSB) yang diseliaurus oleh Timbalan Pengarah Pusat Alumni, Encik Rasyidi Johan,” jelas Pengarah Pusat Alumni JHEP&A, PROFESOR MADYA DR. MOHD IZWAN SHAHRIL yang turut hadir pada majlis pelancaran tersebut.

Menurut Mohd Izwan lagi, selain menjadi pusat pengumpulan data, AIMS adalah salah satu platform alumni untuk mendapatkan maklumat perkembangan terkini universiti selain memberi kemudahan kepada pihak universiti menyediakan data sebagai saluran untuk penanda aras seperti penarafan QS World Universiti Ranking.

“Terdapat ciri-ciri tambahan seperti curricular vitae (CV) yang dijana secara automatik apabila alumni mendaftar dan mengemaskini di laman sesawang AIMS sekaligus membantu pengembangan kerjaya mereka. Dengan maklumat-maklumat yang diperoleh, sekaligus dapat membantu UPSI mengesan perkembangan terkini mereka, menyokong aktiviti dengan menyediakan prasarana bersesuaian seperti majlis perjumpaan sekaligus menggalakkan alumni kembali menyumbang kepada alma mater,” jelasnya lagi.
