JAKARTA, 31 MEI 2021 – Seorang ahli falsafah pernah berkata, satu-satunya perkara yang tetap dalam hidup ini adalah perubahan. Ternyata, A. Nayaka atau nama sebenarnya Ariel Nayaka, sedar akan perihal ini. Seiring dengan masa berlalu, lebih banyak pengalaman hidup yang diperolehi, dia mengakui bahawa dia bukan lagi orang yang sama. Dia berkongsi naratif ini melalui single barunya berjudul “Orang Lain” menjelang pertengahan tahun 2021.

A. Nayaka

“Kadang-kadang, orang menganggap bahawa perubahan itu jika seseorang telah berubah atau ketika seseorang itu telah melangkah ke fasa seterusnya dalam kehidupan mereka adalah sesuatu yang buruk. Dalam trek ini, apa yang saya ingin ceritakan adalah mengenai sisi positif perubahan. Berubah menjadi orang lain maksudnya berkembang menjadi diri anda yang baru dan mencari versi diri anda yang lebih baik dan itu adalah perkara yang bagus,” katanya mengenai makna di sebalik lagunya yang catchy.

Single baru A. Nayaka berjudul “Orang Lain”

Nayaka tidak sendirian dalam menyampaikan mesej mengenai perubahan ini. Dia turut berkolaborasi dengan dua bakat hip-hop dari negara jiran, iaitu SonaOne dari Malaysia dan YHB Sleepsalot dari Singapura. Kisah kolaborasi mereka bertiga juga cukup menarik.  

“Pada mulanya Sona menghantar rentak kepada saya, yang kemudian saya isi dengan cangkuk (hook) dan satu bait kata (verse). Rupanya, Sona juga mengirim YHB rentak yang sama, dan YHB pun hanya mengisinya dengan satu bait kata. Sona kemudian terfikir untuk menggabungkan kesemuanya. Sesungguhnya kolaborasi ini sangat organik dan lancar sekali,” Nayaka menjelaskan permulaan proses kolaborasi tiga negara ini.

Walaupun dia biasanya berkarya dalam bahasa Inggeris, Nayaka masih tetap mengekalkan penuturan dwibahasa tetapi kali ini dia lebih banyak memberi penekanan pada bahasa ibundanya iaitu bahasa Indonesia.

“Sebenarnya, penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia bukanlah pilihan yang disengajakan.  Ia berkait rapat dengan mesej dalam “Orang Lain”. Dulu kebanyakan muzik yang saya buat biasanya dalam bahasa Inggeris, tetapi kali ini saya masih tetap menggunakan rentak trap/hip-hop namun berusaha memasukkan lebih banyak bahasa Indonesia. Intipatinya, tidak kira bagaimanapun kita berubah, pada dasarnya kita masih tetap diri kita sendiri. Itulah mesej utama yang ingin saya sampaikan. Namun sejujurnya, saya hanya menyatukan mesej tersebut setelah lagu itu siap,” ujarnya sambil tertawa.

YHB Sleepsalot

Perubahan positif lain yang dialami Nayaka adalah dia lebih bebas dalam berkarya.

“Saya menggarap sebahagian besar aspek lagu ini. Mixing dibuat oleh Sona, manakala mastering dibuat oleh saya dengan bantuan rakan sekerja. Saya membuat cover art dengan seorang rakan lain, begitu juga dengan video liriknya. Sebenarnya saya gembira kerana tidak banyak pihak ketiga yang terlibat dalam projek ini, kerana ia memberi peluang kepada saya untuk benar-benar terlibat dalam semua aspek. Mungkin ini adalah projek pertama di mana saya terlibat dalam hampir semua perkara.” Jelas A.Nayaka rapper muda kelahiran Jakarta ini.
