KUALA LUMPUR – Directed by Herman Yau and starring a great ensemble of Hong Kong casts Louis Koo, Julian Cheung, Francis Ng, Myolie Wu and Chrissie Chau with special appearances by Charmaine Sheh and many more, the new crime action suspense movie Death Notice will be released in Malaysia on 18th August simultaneously with China, Hong Kong and Macau! Death Notice will be screened in 100 cinemas in Malaysia with special sneaks starting 17th August 2023 so audience can experience the nail-biting suspense and exciting thrills of finding out the identity of the mysterious villain called ‘Darker’. 

In conjunction with the release of Death Notice Malaysia Distributor Lotus Five Star also held a premiere screening at TGV Pavilion Bukit Jalil on the 14th August (Monday). Many local celebrities, hosts, KOLs, KOCs, directors and cinema representatives were present to support the movie. Among the celebrities are Marsila Hassan, Koe Yeet, Natalie, Rasyidah, Victoria, Fuying & Lovell, Nicole Lai, Yumi Wong, Royce Tan, Bernard Hiew, Sand Artist Loong Bee, Minsley Chin and many more. Even though the Hong Kong main casts are not in Malaysia to personally promote the movie in Malaysia, Louis Koo and Myolie Wu recorded special shouts outs to encourage Malaysian audiences to watch and support the movie in cinemas! 

At the recent Malaysia’s premiere screening, guests and audiences are among the very first people to watch Death Notice and have praised the movie’s three main casts talented performance, which is definitely worth buying tickets to watch the movies in the cinemas as support from the good word-of-mouth. 

Over the weekend, Death Notice kick started its movie promotions with advance special screenings in China and Hong Kong with the appearances of Director Herman Yau and the star-studded casts – Louis Koo, Julian Cheung, Myolie Wu and Ray Liu. The reactions from the screenings are very encouraging with positive word of mouth from audiences’ reviews. Among some of the reviews – “The unexpected plot where you have to diligently follow all the suspense as the story cleverly unfolds”, “The combination of Hong Kong still crime action and crime novel IP with the layers of high-IQ crimes is very exciting”. Some viewers even commented that the on-screen acting skills of the 3 main casts – Louis Koo, Julian Cheung and Francis Ng are off the chart and asking when Director Herman Yau can work on the sequel so they can continue to be in the ‘game’ to chase ‘Darker’ together.

Death Notice is adapted from the original novel of the same name “Death Notice” by famous suspense writer Zhou Haohui is a detective thriller and deadly game of cat-and-mouse. In the story, Darker, a mysterious killer who calls himself a “judge”, is behind several murders that caused a sensation in the city. All those who received the “Death Notice” will be brutally killed according to the date stated in the notice. Detective Luo Fei (Julian Cheung) with the only witness, disfigured witness (Louis Koo) and the task force head (Francis Ng) to joined in the game together to find out who is Darker!
