Luca Sickta atau nama sebenarnya Shameer Ashraf Shahruddin berkata, dia memanjatkan rasa syukur ke hadrat Ilahi apabila majlis akad nikah berjalan dengan lancar.
“Pada awalnya majlis akad nikah akan diketuai oleh bapa saudara Robecca, tapi malangnya dia disahkan positif Covid-19 dan terpaksa digantikan oleh imam masjid di sini.
“Walaupun berdepan cabaran tapi saya bersyukur kerana majlis akad nikah berjalan dengan lancar. Lagipun majlis pernikahan ini diadakan secara sederhana saja memandangkan kes Covid-19 yang masih tinggi.
“Pernikahan ini adalah satu fasa baru dalam hidup. Saya kini memegang satu tanggungjawab besar sebagai suami selain perlu mendidik isteri dalami agama memandangkan Robecca baru memeluk agama Islam setahun lalu,” katanya.
Luca Sickta menyerahkan mas kahwin bernilai RM300 manakala tiada pertukaran dulang hantaran antara kedua belah pihak dan memilih untuk merahsiakan jumlah wang hantaran di atas persetujuan kedua belah keluarga.
Menurut Luca, dia mula mengenali Robecca sekitar setahun lalu ketika berada di Kota Kinabalu atas urusan kerja.
“Perkenalan kami memang singkat tapi saya selesa berkawan dengannya kerana kami memiliki pemikiran dan hala tuju yang hampir sama.
“Lagipun hubungan yang dibina bukanlah sekadar ‘cinta monyet’ atau nak bersuka ria. Umur kami pun sudah mencecah 30-an, jadi fokus kami lebih kepada masa depan dan melalui kehidupan bersama-sama.
“Saya sebenarnya sangat bersyukur kerana hubungan kami mendapat restu kedua ibu bapa Robecca. Malah bapanya sendiri yang memberi galakan dan sokongan untuk Robecca memeluk Islam.
