Berada di sekitar garisan khatulistiwa, menjadikan Malaysia sebuah negara yang menerima taburan hujan sepanjang tahun di samping kedudukan Malaysia dipengaruhi oleh angin dari daratan berbanding dengan cuaca yang lebih maritim di bahagian Timur.

Sejak November 2020 sehingga awal 2021, banjir yang melanda di beberapa negeri kawasan pantai timur telah menyebabkan puluhan ribu penduduk dipindahkan ke pusat-pusat pemindahan. Negeri Pahang dan Johor merupakan negeri yang terjejas teruk dalam bencana alam kali ini.

Banjir edisi kali ini juga turut meragut beberapa korban nyawa, dan menyebabkan kemusnahan harta benda serta hampir semua jenis pengangkutan darat di kawasan-kawasan yang terlibat dengan banjir terputus, ditambah pula dengan penularan Covid-19 yang dilihat semakin meruncing di seluruh negara sehingga memaksa kerajaan persekutuan mengumumkan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan 2 (PKP 2.0).

MISI BANTUAN KEMANUSIAN MANGSA BANJIR 2.0 merupakan anjuran dari Suami Masak Apa Hari Ini dan Destinasi TV. Masjid Mahmoodiah Putrajaya turut berganding bahu dalam usaha mengumpulkan sumbangan dan dana dari penduduk pantai barat, khasnya dari sekitar Putrajaya dan Negeri Selangor.

Sumbangan yang diperlukan adalah berupa kelengkapan pakaian sekolah seperti baju, seluar, beg dan kasut baru atau terpakai, alas tidur seperti  tilam, toto dan bantal.

Pengumpulan sumbangan keperluan berlangsung dari 16 Januari 2021 sehingga 21 Januari 2021 yang berpusat di Anjung Masjid Mahmoodiah, Presint 18, Putrajaya.

Selain sumbangan keperluan barangan, Misi Bantuan Kemanusiaan ini juga mengalu-alukan sumbangan berupa bantuan kewangan dari pihak orang ramai yang boleh disalurkan terus ke akaun Maybank 566010621212 (Masjid Mahmoodiah Putrajaya) dengan menulis rujukan transaksi: ‘Mangsa Banjir’.
