KUALA LUMPUR, 5 JUN 2021 – Mula diperkenalkan sekitar Ogos tahun lalu, Satwo pernah tampil dengan lagu berjudul Untok Kita sebagai lagu pengenalan. Jelas, kekayaan muzik folk rock dan psych pop tepat dengan mereka. Single tersebut telah mengundang pelbagai pertanyaan dan minat daripada pendengar-pendengar muzik Malaysia yang mendengarnya buat pertama kali. kumpulan baru ini mendendangkan melodi dan irama yang mistik dan berhantu. Bunyi mereka sememangnya sesuatu yang fresh dan jarang didengari.
Kini mereka sekali lagi menghantui dunia muzik dengan single kedua mereka yang berjudul Gelap.
“Gelap adalah sebuah lagu tentang seseorang yang dihantui kisah silamnya dan ingin keluar mencari sesuatu yang lebih baik untuk dirinya. Di hujung lagu kita dapati beliau telahpun menemui cahaya di hujung terowong” kata Rafiz, juga merupakan gitaris dan vokalis Satwo.
Menurut Ilham Pitahati, “Gelap adalah diantara lagu kegemaran saya, waktu mereka menghantar demo pertama mereka kepada saya, kuat hati saya merasakan bahawa lagu ini bakal ‘hit’. Lagu ini adalah di antara sebab saya menawarkan diri menjadi produser album mereka” katanya yang juga penerbit album Satwo yang bakal muncul pada tahun ini.
Ciri-ciri unik yang ada pada muzik Satwo adalah pembawakan vokal mereka, dimana vokal utama Rafiz sentiasa diiringi vokal harmoni dan ad lib oleh Maz, pianis dan vokalis kedua mereka. Hasilnya adalah suatu pameran suara yang mencerminkan keakraban, kebersatuan dan harmoni dalam hubungan mereka berdua, dan perkara ini jelas sekali dalam Gelap. Di sini boleh dilihat bagaimana kehidupan mencerminkan seni, dan kehidupan mereka sebagai pasangan suami isteri telah mencerminkan karya mereka.
Sebagai kumpulan yang hanya mempunyai dua orang ahli utama, mereka juga mempunyai kesenangan dan kebebasan untuk berkolaborasi dengan pelbagai jenis musisi mengikut kepada citarasa mereka dan kesesuaian pada lagu. Untuk Gelap, mereka telah meminjam bakat daripada beberapa pemuzik hebat iaitu; Aidil Azali (Iqbal M.) untuk drum, Masrin (Pitahati) untuk bass, Zahar dan Hidayat (Pitahati) untuk gitar. Terdapat juga bunyi-bunyi synthesizer yang merupakan kerjasama antara Ilham dan Maz.
Mereka menjelaskan bahawa idea ini tercetus apabila Ilham memberi tugasan kepada mereka supaya menyiapkan empat lagu baru dalam masa seminggu. Namun mereka hanya mendapat idea satu hari sebelum menghantar demo mereka kepada Luncai Emas. Dalam keadaan tertekanlah lagu ini terlahir. Idea untuk lagu ini bermula dengan sebuah ukulele yang dimainkan Maz dalam gaya ‘koboi’ yang menjadi hook utama lagu ini, dan kini telah berkembang menjadi sesuatu yang lebih dahsyat.
Pelancaran lagu Gelap disertai dengan sebuah video muzik arahan Ameer Syafiq. Penggambaran video ini telah berlangsung di Mossy Forest, Cameron Highlands dan Taman Melawati. Luncai Emas bertanggungjawab dalam penerbitan video muzik ini serta boleh ditonton di saluran YouTube Luncai Emas.
Gelap adalah satu daripada sepuluh buah lagu di dalam album mereka yang dijangka akan dirilis hujung tahun ini. Muzik Satwo boleh didengari di pelbagai platform streaming termasuk Spotify, JOOX, Deezer, Apple Music dan lain-lain.
